REFLECTION/DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:
What is your reason (or purpose!) for being “together” with others here at Revolution?
How can you transform your answer to the first question into something you can act on, week in and week out? Are there relationships you can pursue? Ways to participate you can investigate? Are you here on purpose?
This sermon attempts to investigate God’s purpose in bringing church communities like Revolution together. The first answer in the sermon is to restore us to life. What does the choice to offer real life to human beings tell us about God and God’s character? Why would he do this?
The second answer is to share in Christ’s mission. Try to restate this point in your own words: how are individual Christians “together” in the “body of Christ”? If this is true, what are we supposed to do? Look to examples from Jesus’s story to guide you: what does he do?
The third answer is to be God’s delight–to be God’s beloved children. Do you often see yourself this way? What does this relationship change for you, in terms of how you think about God? What if it’s true–that you are God’s child? What does that suggest about how he thinks about you?
