Weekly Announcements:
BECOME // BUILDING A NEIGHBORHOOD PLAYGROUND
On November 23, HACA and Elevate Church in Eastport are collaborating to build a new playground in a local neighborhood. If you would like to help out, the first crew is meeting on-site (1469 Tyler Ave.) to dig holes and lay foundations from 9:00 a.m. to noon, and then a second crew will be installing the structure from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Bring a wrench or a screwdriver and come on out to help support our local community!
BECOME // THANKSGIVING MEALS FOR GERMANTOWN FAMILIES
On Sunday, November 24, we will be shopping for and packing boxes of Thanksgiving dinners for the families of children at Germantown Elementary School. To make this work, we will be having only one service that Sunday, at 10:00am. At the end of service, we will send families/groups out to the grocery store with a shopping list, and then folks will meet back at Germantown to pack boxes and set them aside for distribution on Monday. This is a tremendous way for us to love and care for our partners at Germantown Elementary…and to show real and meaningful kindness to the families of our immediate community. Please make a point of joining us that Sunday, and invite friends to come with you to shop and pack boxes!
BECOME // SUPPORTING REVOLUTION WITH A YEAR-END GIFT
As we approach the end of the year, we want to encourage ourselves and everyone who considers Revolution their church home to consider supporting our church financially. What we do as a church, from maintaining staff, to meeting needs in our community, to renting our space at Germantown Elementary, is entirely self-funded by this community. So, as we head into the holiday season and many of us have gift giving and generosity on our minds, we want to encourage everyone to join us by supporting the work of this church. Revolution means a lot to many of us! If you would like to donate towards the ministry of Revolution, you can always learn more about ways to do that by visiting www.revolutionannapolis.com/giving, by looking on the app, or by asking a question on your Connect Card this week.
BECOME // VOLUNTEERING THIS HOLIDAY SEASON
This holiday season, we are once again partnering with Downtown Hope and several other churches in our community for the City of Peace project. City of Peace is an inter-church program for sharing service opportunities throughout or city and recruiting volunteers to help. This is a great way to make a difference in our city by spending the time you have focused on the opportunities that best suit your gifts and interests. Learn more by visiting their website HERE, or by talking with Kenny on any Sunday this holiday season.
BELIEVE // OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN MORE ABOUT BAPTISM
Two weeks ago, we celebrated 2 baptisms at Revolution: Sophia and Alexander Derico. If you would like to learn more about what baptism is, why it is important to us at Revolution, or if you have questions about being baptized, please email Kenny at kenny@revolutionannapolis.com. There is no pressure, and he would love to talk with you about your questions about this very important part of Christian belief, teaching, and practice!
BECOME // LAY LEADERSHIP APPLICATIONS
Three week ago, we announced that we will be making a change in our governance structure at Revolution from a “Management Team,” which has been our source of governance since the church was launched in 2010, to a “Lay Leadership Team.” This new team is intended to help our church continue to move towards full self-governance by empowering the people of our community to step into roles that best match their passions and gifting. If you would like to learn more about this team or how to get involved, please schedule a time to talk with Kenny (kenny@revolutionannapolis.com) in the coming weeks.
BELONG // REVMIDDLE AND REVHIGH
If you are a middle schooler or high schooler, Revolution’s youth group meets during second service on Sundays! Make sure to be there…and if you have any questions, please get in touch with our team leader, Shawn Livingston, at shawn@revolutionannapolis.com.
