Weekly Announcements:

BECOME // GIFTS FOR GERMANTOWN PRESCHOOLERS ***URGENT!***

The staff at Germantown Elementary is looking for small Christmas gifts for each of the 75 preschoolers in their program. 100% of preschool students at Germantown come from homes living below the poverty line here in the city, and the school would like our help in meeting this need. We have put together a Target Wishlist for 75 toys, each under $10. To participate, please click THIS LINK and add as many gifts to your cart as you like! All gifts need to be delivered to Kenny by Wednesday afternoon at 4:00 pm so he can deliver them to the school Thursday morning for distribution before the break. You can bring presents to church on Sunday, drop them off at the Camachos’ home (30H Ironstone Ct.), at Kenny’s office space (Downtown Hope/255 West St.), or you can call Kenny (803.727.8500) to work out another plan. Thank you for continuing to love and support our neighbors at this school!

BECOME // LAY LEADERSHIP APPLICATIONS

Last month, we announced that we will be making a change in our governance structure at Revolution from a “Management Team,” which has been our source of governance since the church was launched in 2010, to a “Lay Leadership Team.” This new team is intended to help our church continue to move towards full self-governance by empowering the people of our community to step into roles that best match their passions and gifting. If you would like to learn more about this team or how to get involved, please schedule a time to talk with Kenny (kenny@revolutionannapolis.com) in the coming weeks.

BELONG // SINGERS FOR “CHOIR SUNDAY” AT REVOLUTION

Do you like to sing? On Sunday, December 22, we will be having our annual “choir Sunday” at Revolution. We would love to have as many people as possible sing with us as part of the worship team that day. School-aged children and older are also welcome to join us, and no prior worship team experience is necessary. There will be a required rehearsal on Wednesday December 18th at 6:30pm. Contact Sarah Kramer at skramer@revolutionannapolis.com for more details if you are interested!

BELONG // MOMS’ GROUP CHRISTMAS BRUNCH

The Revolution Moms’ Group will be meeting for a Christmas Brunch on December 12 at the Millers’ Home (500 Wilson Rd.) from 9:15-11:00. All moms are welcome, even if you are new to the church or the group. This is a great place to make new friends, share experiences, and find real encouragement. Please come join us!

BECOME // SUPPORTING REVOLUTION WITH A YEAR-END GIFT

As we approach the end of the year, we want to encourage ourselves and everyone who considers Revolution their church home to consider supporting our church financially. What we do as a church, from maintaining staff, to meeting needs in our community, to renting our space at Germantown Elementary, is entirely self-funded by this community. So, as we head into the holiday season and many of us have gift giving and generosity on our minds, we want to encourage everyone to join us by supporting the work of this church. Revolution means a lot to many of us! If you would like to donate towards the ministry of Revolution, you can always learn more about ways to do that by visiting www.revolutionannapolis.com/giving, by looking on the app, or by asking a question on your Connect Card this week.

BECOME // VOLUNTEERING THIS HOLIDAY SEASON

This holiday season, we are once again partnering with Downtown Hope and several other churches in our community for the City of Peace project. City of Peace is an inter-church program for sharing service opportunities throughout or city and recruiting volunteers to help. This is a great way to make a difference in our city by spending the time you have focused on the opportunities that best suit your gifts and interests. Learn more by visiting their website HERE, or by talking with Kenny on any Sunday this holiday season.

BELONG // BOOK AND SOUP GROUP!

As we approach a potentially volatile election year, we are in need of encouraging words and a Jesus-centered tone. The Millers would like to welcome interested people to ther next "Book and Soup Group"! The meeting will be on Sunday, January 19, 4pm - 5:30pm, with soup at 5:30, at Julia Bigelow's home, 404 Halsey Road, Annapolis. The book discussion will be on I Think You're Wrong (But I'm Listening) by Sarah Stewart Holland (a Democrat) and Beth Silvers (a Republican). Sarah and Beth host a podcast and website called Pantsuit Politics. The book is "a guide to grace-filled political conversations". They artfully show how this can be done while unpacking various politically hot topics. Come to talk, come to listen, come to be challenged by these two thoughtful women. As always, read as much as you can - all are welcome! Call Fred (717-877-8667) or Cathy Miller (717-602-6917) for further info. RSVP is helpful in planning for soup.

BELONG // FAMILY RETREAT 2020

Our hope is that Family Retreat will be a time of rest, fun, and connection for the members of our Revolution family. Whether you’re new to camping or an old pro, Family Retreat is for you, and we hope you’ll join us! Save the date for April 23-26, 2020 (but feel free to come late or leave early). BELONG // ADVENT CONTINUES THIS WEEK!

This coming Sunday marks the second Sunday of the Advent season. Advent is a time of both reflection and anticipation as we remember the story of Jesus’s birth and look forward to his future return. At Revolution, Advent holds a special place in our church calendar, and we celebrate this season each year by rearranging our space and making changes to our Sunday order of service in order to better connect ourselves to the larger body and history of the Church. Our hope is always that this season is one which brings fresh perspectives, greater empathy, and deeper relationships with both God and others. We hope you will join us for each week of the coming series, as well as for our Christmas Eve service (@ 4:30).

BELIEVE // OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN MORE ABOUT BAPTISM

If you would like to learn more about what baptism is, why it is important to us at Revolution, or if you have questions about being baptized, please email Kenny at kenny@revolutionannapolis.com. There is no pressure, and he would love to talk with you about your questions about this very important part of Christian belief, teaching, and practice!

BELONG // REVMIDDLE AND REVHIGH

If you are a middle schooler or high schooler, Revolution’s youth group meets during second service on Sundays! Make sure to be there…and if you have any questions, please get in touch with our team leader, Shawn Livingston, at shawn@revolutionannapolis.com.
