Weekly Announcements:

BELONG // REVOLUTION, COVID-19, AND STAYING CONNECTED

As we continue in these unusual rhythms of our lives, our tendency is going to be to isolate ourselves. But as a church family, we are here for one another! If you are feeling alone, please don’t be afraid to reach out to a friend or to our church staff: we are still working, and our phones are always nearby! You can reach our lead pastor, Kenny, by email at kenny@revolutionannapolis.com or by phone at 803.727.8500. And if you are missing someone, please send them an email, a text, or make a phone call, too! We are all in this together, and we are a family: you matter here, and we are here for you.

BELONG // PROTESTS AND CHANGE IN ANNE ARUNDEL

Revolution stands in solidarity with the peaceful protests calling for equality and an end to racist violence in our local systems, institutions, and policies. As we talked about this past Sunday, God’s justice is not a scare resource. In the prophet Amos’s time, God rejected the worship, prayers, and offerings of entitled Israelites who were privileged by a system they may not have built, but one which stood on the backs of slaves and the oppressed. God’s call was for them to help deconstruct the system that benefited them alone, breaking down the dam to let God’s “justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream!” (Amos 5.24). We can see an image of our own time in this story…and we can take similar steps to build a more just society.

If you are taking part in local protests, share your stories with us. If there are opportunities others can be involved with, let us know and we will share them, too. And if you have questions, don’t hesitate to ask them: kenny@revolutionannapolis.com.

BECOME // FOOD PANTRY VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY

If you’ve been looking for a chance to serve our community on a weekend, we have an opportunity for you! LoveAACO is sponsoring a “pop-up pantry” every Saturday at Tyler Heights Elementary. Thousands of guests are being served through this location, and there is a high need for helping hands. To learn more, click the link HERE and sign up to help out!

BELONG // TRIVIA WINNERS AND UPDATES

So last night, the tally was tied: Team Fire, who won the first two weeks of Revolution Trivia, was matched by the Know Nothings, who are now on a two week winning streak. We would love to see which team reigns supreme…or find out if there is another upstart in the ranks, ready to start a streak of their own! Trivia, which we run every other Monday night, has been a really fun time for folks at Revolution to connect, have fun, talk trash, and win prizes. We would love to see you join us next time on Monday June 22!

BECOME // PARTNERING WITH HERITAGE BAPTIST CHURCH’S FOOD PANTRY

Over the last few months, our friends at Heritage Baptist Church on Forest Drive have been working to rapidly expand the food pantry they operate out of their facility in order to meet the increasing needs in our area. As some restrictions in our community are beginning to lift, we have formalized our partnership with them in this endeavor. Right now, they are sufficiently funded to purchase the food they need to meet demand…but they are in real need of volunteers to help unload, sort, pack, and distribute their supply! If you would be interested in joining a volunteer team to help, please reach out to Kenny at kenny@revolutionannapolis.com. We will be meeting on Tuesdays at 8:30 a.m. at Heritage Baptist to prep for the pantry event from 9:00-11:00.

BECOME // SUMMER SOCIALS

As the weather continues to improve and opportunities to gather in safe ways increase, we are hoping to create times/spaces for in-person connection in our church community! Stay tuned for some picnic-type events in the weeks ahead where folks can bring food, play games, and enjoy fellowship again…while staying six feet apart, of course! If you would like to be involved in planning an event, please reach out to Kenny (kenny@revolutionannapolis.com) to let him know!

BELIEVE // WEDNESDAY NIGHT “THEOLOGY ON TAP”

We are continuing to hold an open-discussion discipleship group on Wednesday nights for all who are interested. Kenny leads, and the community has plenty of room for you! Join on Zoom by clicking this link https://zoom.us/j/7975456192 and entering the password: revolution. Once work is done, kids are asleep, and pets are fed, grab a beverage of your choice and log on with us!

BELONG // REVMIDDLE AND REVHIGH

If you are a middle schooler or high schooler, Revolution’s youth group is for you. If you would like to connect in this season, please get in touch with our team leader, Bailey Nilsen, at bailey@revolutionannapolis.com.
