Weekly Announcements:

BELONG // REVOLUTION, COVID-19, AND STAYING CONNECTED

As we continue in these unusual rhythms of our lives, our tendency is going to be to isolate ourselves. But as a church family, we are here for one another! If you are feeling alone, please don’t be afraid to reach out to a friend or to our church staff: we are still working, and our phones are always nearby! You can reach our lead pastor, Kenny, by email at kenny@revolutionannapolis.com or by phone at 803.727.8500. And if you are missing someone, please send them an email, a text, or make a phone call, too! We are all in this together, and we are a family: you matter here, and we are here for you.

BECOME // THE RACE AGAINST TRAFFICK IS THIS SATURDAY!

Join the South County Local in participating in this year’s Race Against Traffick with the Araminta Freedom Initiative! Araminta Freedom Initiative is an organization dedicated to the work of ending human trafficking, and the Race Against Traffick is their largest awareness event and fundraiser each year. Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, this year, they have decided to take it virtual…which gives you an easy opportunity to help out! You can run or walk along your favorite path or use a treadmill, and you can race on your own or as part of a team.  If (like many of us) you only run when chased, you can also join their UnRun Couch 5k team! It’s a great event for a truly wonderful cause; to participate, you can find more information HERE.

BELONG // TRIVIA RETURNS NEXT MONDAY NIGHT!

Our first game of “Zoom trivia” last Monday was a hit (more than 40 people playing!), so we are bringing it back again next Monday, May 11. Kenny and Meredith will be hosting, and just like last time, if you can show up a few minutes early (7:50ish), it will help us get folks settled on teams before we start the game at 8:05. All are welcome, including folks from outside Revolution—if you have a friend who loves trivia who might want to play, invite them to join your team! To connect, head to zoom.us, enter Meeting ID 7975456192 and password revolution. We’ll see you then!

BECOME // ‘LOVE AACO’: A NEW WAY TO HELP FEED THE HUNGRY IN OUR CITY

A collective of churches in our area (including Revolution!) are working together to help get food to the people in our community who need it in this difficult season. The current project involves creating “Pop Up Pantries” (PUPs) at local schools, purchasing food supplies through the AA County Food Bank, and partnering with school staff and administrators to distribute meals at weekly drive-through “PUP” events. There are many ways to get involved, beginning with donating to help purchase the food HERE and including volunteering at any one of the local PUP sites. Kenny and Clare worked at the Georgetown East location this past week, and we will be sure to share future PUP locations and times through Revolution’s social media feed!

BECOME // COVID-19 RELIEF FUND

In order to help meet current and future needs in our church community related to the coronavirus emergency, we have set up a special fund designation on our online giving page. The money that goes into this fund will go to relief and benevolence efforts inside our church community as they become apparent. Any funds left at the end of the current emergency will go to other relief efforts in our city, including paying down any medical debt accumulating right now as a result of coronavirus-related hospitalizations. If you are someone whose financial situation is stable, and you recently received a stimulus check, we would encourage you to take a portion of that check and give it towards this fund: this is a practical way for us to care for one another. If you were with us for our study of the book of Acts last year, you know this is exactly the kind of thing the first Christians did: they gave all they had to the care of their brothers and sisters in the church. We can do this too!

BELONG // WEEK 9 VIDEO CHALLENGE

This week, introduce us to your non-human housemate(s)! Send your video to us at info@revolutionannapolis.com by Friday afternoon so we can share it on Sunday!

BELIEVE // WEDNESDAY NIGHT “THEOLOGY ON TAP”

We are continuing to hold a sermon-discussion discipleship group on Wednesday nights for all who are interested. Kenny leads, and the community has plenty of room for you! Join on Zoom by clicking this link https://zoom.us/j/7975456192 and entering the password: revolution. Once work is done, kids are asleep, and pets are fed, grab a beverage of your choice and log on with us!

BECOME // DONATIONS NEEDED FOR THE ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY FOOD BANK

The AACo Food Bank is in desperate need of donations to keep up with an increase in demand. You can drop frozen foods and shelf-stable items off at their main location off Crownsville Road, or you can be a part of a virtual food drive and shop online for groceries to be delivered directly to the food bank. To take part, learn more HERE!

BECOME // DONATE BLOOD WITH AAMC

With hospitalizations continuing to rise, our community is in desperate need for blood donations. You can still help! The Blood Donor Center at Anne Arundel Medical Center is open Monday-Wednesday from 8:15am - 3:45pm & Thursday-Friday from 7:15am - 2:45pm. To learn more about Blood Mobile drives in your area, you can check them out HERE.

BELONG // REVMIDDLE AND REVHIGH

If you are a middle schooler or high schooler, Revolution’s youth group is for you. If you would like to connect in this season, please get in touch with our team leader, Bailey Nilsen, at bailey@revolutionannapolis.com.
