Weekly Announcements:
BELONG // IN-PERSON SATURDAY SERVICES
We are now meeting weekly at Heritage Baptist Church (1740 Forest Dr) on Saturday evenings at 5:30 pm. In accordance with current state- and county-wide Covid safety precautions, masks in common spaces will be optional for vaccinated adults and recommended for unvaccinated adults. We have also reopened our RevKids services, and in accordance with current guidance, children/volunteers in that area will need to wear masks. Also, if you can help out, we will need you! We are in particular need of greeters and folks to help with Guest Experience. If you can play a part, please contact Cathy Miller (cathygrowinghealthy@gmail.com) to learn more!
BECOME // A SAFE SPACE FOR FAMILY MEMBERS DURING THE CAPITAL-GAZETTE TRIAL
The trial for Jarrod Ramos, the gunman of the 2018 Capital-Gazette shooting here in Annapolis, is set to begin on June 23. The Office of the Comptroller has set up a special safe room for family members of shooting victims who are attending or participating in the trial. The goal is to provide a quiet place of respite and support for them as long as the trial lasts. To help with this project, the Comptroller’s Office has reached out to a few local churches to ask for volunteers to take care of the space, bring food orders in when they are delivered, and be able to offer comfort or prayer. If you would like to volunteer, you can sign up for a shift HERE. This is an extremely meaningful way for us to love our neighbors. Please consider taking a shift or two!
BELONG // AFTER SERVICE GROUP THIS SATURDAY
Make a plan to stick around after service this Saturday and head out on the town together with some friends! The “After Service” group meets every other week after church ends and it is a great way to make friends and develop deeper relationships. For more info, you can email Maggie Young, our group leader, at youngmaggie14@gmail.com.
BECOME // VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR ANNAPOLIS LIGHT HOUSE SHELTER
Annapolis Light House Shelter, is an absolutely indispensable organization here in the city that helps our neighbors transition out of homelessness. They are looking to improve their outdoor spaces at their facility (10 Hudson Street) and they need our help! These spaces are essential and therapeutic for their residents, so keeping them beautiful is important. If you can help them weed, rake, bag leaves, or take yard waste, please send them an email to find out about the next work day at volunteers@annapolislighthouse.org. Let’s love our neighbors well!
BECOME // ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY FOOD BANK FOOD DRIVE
The Anne Arundel County Food Bank is in need of donations to restock their inventory as they continue to experience increased demand for assistance. If you can make an in-person or online donation (or want to shop virtually!), you can make a difference HERE. Help support this outstanding local organization!
BELONG // SOFTBALL!
We are participating in a church softball league this summer! If you’d like to play, games will be at Annapolis Middle School on Monday and Wednesday nights between 6 and 8pm. Message Kenny if you want to join—you are welcome to play as much or as little as you want!
BELIEVE // SUMMER SMALL GROUPS ARE HERE!
